The Road to Oregon

Saying goodbye to one of my cockatiels

On Wednesday, June 24th, we embarked on what would be a 15 hour drive to Rockaway Beach, Oregon for Tony's family reunion with his parents, siblings, nieces and nephews. Our first destination though was Klamath Falls, Oregon. About 10 hours from where we live. I feel like our max for driving is around 12 hours and really wanted to break up the trip a bit so this was a good option. I don't know anyone in this town but I do know people near we probably could have stayed with but because of the pandemic, we ended up getting a room at a Travelodge.

The lonnnng road ahead.

Loving seeing green trees first thing in the morning

The room was alright. It did have a leaky tub that dripped all night but it was pretty clean. Mattress wasn't great but it was just for a night and we were on our way the next morning.

We stopped at Johnny Rockets in Reno for dinner before we got to Klamath Falls. Not that pretty to look at but tasted a-ok. I can't remember the last time we ate at a Johnny Rockets. The waitress was very friendly and chatty. I think she has missed people coming in since dine-in had recently opened up again.

The casino the restaurant was in had an amazing light figure on the ceiling ~ super sparkly and some parts lit up different colors. Too gorgeous!

Driving by some lakes...

This lake looked cool but the water was not blue at all!
