The purpose of going to Bakersfield was to get our Mazda Protege5 an alignment. Much more affordable to do it out of town vs. in Ridgecrest so away we went for the day. Yep, gotta make a day of it when places are a couple hours away.

Wind Wolves Preserve
My friend Jessica who lives in Bakersfield told me about this place and it sounded neat so I suggested to Tony we should go explore it a bit. Even though it was 94* outside, we got there around 5pm and it was luckily starting to cool down. Be aware that the place closes at 6, not sure how that works when you are camping, but we left the area to head out after an hour of exploring and hiking around.

Murray Family Farms
Yes, gas is really that price right now in California unfortunately. Anyways! Like the url of the blog, I still love cherries and when I heard the Murray Family Farms was doing a cherry festival on Saturday, we managed to fit it on on our way into Bakersfield.
