Day 2 of the festival started out overcast and chilly and the fog didn't burn off until much later than the day before. We decided it was nice to crew in the cloudy skies instead of the hot sun but it also meant that the other balloons had to travel aways away to take off or just not take off at all.
I was on the fan responsible for getting the balloon inflated. Luckily I dont have to start the fan - that takes some energy! You pull a cord (usually) like a lawn mower and it doesn't always start the first time. I make sure that nobody gets close to the fan because it can really hurt you if you aren't careful.
Tony getting to go up in the balloon. Kim would put crew in the basket if she needed some extra weight. Tony got a turn first and I got one later.
Some balloon selfies. I was so chilly!
Views from above...
Tony likes to try ribs so he got a few ribs and I got some mac and cheese with meat on top.
Good eating at the pilot potlucks. We brought brownies.
Went to the Lake Skinner gift shop. OMGOSH. So much cool stuff!!
Tony with a cool little racing car that had the US Forest Service (who he used to work for!) on the side.
The stickers on the right are sold up at the counter in the Lake Skinner gift shop. The yellow balloon on the left is the balloon we got engaged in! Mountain Breeze. Soo cool.
Random - a spider built this web on Tony's chair in less than 24 hours.
Me wearing the pass that got us in and out for free. So handy!
These water filling stations were genius. I think more fairs and festivals should have them.
Pandy and Hoote enjoyed coming and camping with us.
Watching Big & Rich perform before we headed home.
