I think a lot of people were surprised to see Tony & I were heading to Paris when I posted about it on Facebook. I had been pretty quiet about it because it seemed far away but then again, not far at all. A few months ago Tony asked if we would do Disney World next or Disneyland Paris. I said oh I don't know. Maybe one of them next year? Next thing I knew, he was planning a Paris trip and I was like 👀 But let him go ahead with it. I had many other things going on that I was doing and thinking about to be too concerned with it. But in the back of my mind, the fear of being surrounded by secondhand smoke and pickpockets in France was so unnerving to me.
We parked our car at a friend's house in Long Beach (thank you Angela!) on the afternoon of August 17th and got a Lyft ride to LAX. I was able to get some food in the Delta Lounge (thank you Trevor!) and we hopped on our flight. It took about 11 hours to get to Paris. We tried to sleep some, used the internet and watched a movie or two. I had the middle seat and Tony had the aisle. I really wanted to look outside over what parts of the world we were flying over but it was a no go. The girl up against that window never even peeked out. What a waste! 😕

My niece who lives in WA met up with us at the airport in Paris. We basically landed at the same time so that was perfect! She's 16 and I am so happy she was able to join us!
We had to get photos taken (mainly Tony & Hailey) for our transportation pass. This booth was at the airport but I also saw them in other places. We wandered around the airport for awhile with our luggage trying to get everything done that we needed to.
Unfortunately we could not get the transportation pass we needed at the airport.

So we got into a taxi ride (Uber I think since they don't have Lyft over in Paris) and got a ride to our Airbnb which was in a place called Bussy-Saint-Georges.
Snapped a picture from the back seat and also our driver stopped to get gas. I thought the pump looked interesting so of course I had to get a photo!
I also got a quick pic of our vehicle before it took off. It's the white van looking car in the road. Tony went on a walk about 12 min away (one way!) to pick up the key and Hailey and I hung out with all the luggage outside the building which had a gate.
The train station was a 10'ish minute walk from our building. After checking out our room and getting our luggage situated, we headed over to Disneyland to walk around. We were also able to get our transportation passes for the next while.
It was fun checking out the stores and walking around. Then we went to Annette's for dinner. Our first real meal after the airplane and the last real meal we ended up having for a bit.
Hailey and I shared a sampler plate + Tony's fries and we were so full by the end of the meal. We could hardly finish!

Walked around a bit more after dinner. I wish we could have gotten a ride in this gas balloon. Spoiler ~ we didn't. Every time we tried or thought about it, the balloon was either finishing up for the day or it was not ideal weather. Boo. Hiss. It has not worked out for me to ride the orange gas balloon in California yet either!
