Paris Trip ~ Day 1 ~

I think a lot of people were surprised to see Tony & I were heading to Paris when I posted about it on Facebook. I had been pretty quiet about it because it seemed far away but then again, not far at all. A few months ago Tony asked if we would do Disney World next or Disneyland Paris. I said oh I don't know. Maybe one of them next year? Next thing I knew, he was planning a Paris trip and I was like 👀 But let him go ahead with it. I had many other things going on that I was doing and thinking about to be too concerned with it. But in the back of my mind, the fear of being surrounded by secondhand smoke and pickpockets in France was so unnerving to me.

Surrey Inn Review

The biscuits and gravy are hiring! haha

Tony found us a standard hotel room at Surrey Inn on Airbnb. Who knew? I thought people only listed their homes, rooms, cabins, treehouses, etc. on  Airbnb but apparently it was a good deal to get a room here for 2 nights. Check it out!

Food Truck Travel Tips

So...I didn't have the best experience yesterday going to a food truck festival that Tony found for me to go to. But! The experience inspired this blog post because I am hoping if other people have had this problem in the past, these tips will help you for future food truck eats.

Our 2014 Travel Plans [Spring & Summer]

Tony sent me an email that I got one day at work and it made me so excited inside! It was some trips he was thinking about doing , trips to do together, pretty much from now until September.  Here's what we have & have done so far.

March -
Snow Canyon State Park
Zion National Park

April -
Arizona to visit friends and help with the Easter Pageant in Mesa

May -
Vegas for my friend Emily's wedding
California for my grandpa's 90th birthday
Camping in southern UT with a trailer from Salt Creek Imports
Idaho for Tony's mom - birthday celebration

June -
Hot Air Balloon Festival in Salina
Gem Mountain in Montana for our 3rd anniversary (this was postponed from April bc of weather)

July -
Denver trip

August -
Flaming Gorge
Grand Tetons

I would also like to visit The Mighty Five , we have done 1 already - 4 more to go! Of course we have been to them all but not this year.

I am so stoked for our summer travel plans! We hope to get the tow hitch put on my car before our next trip. It'd be awesome to go to a teardrop camper meetup sometime this summer too, it all depends on where and when.

If anyone in UT (or close) reading this wants to meet up with us at any of these places , let me know and we can talk details. It'd be fun to have you come or meet up with us there!

The Road to the Snowflake, AZ

And a long road it was! We drove from Magdalena NM to Snowflake, AZ
It took about 3 hours.

On the way we had to pull over because there was a "procession" coming. Cop cars and finally this:

All this for an "oversize" load?  Oh my.

Cool picture I got out Tony's window while he was driving.

Stopped at a Walmart once we got to Arizona to pick up a few things and rny friend Marietta! She is from the Woodland Stake in CA and now lives in AZ. Crazy cool to see her again! She was coming out of Walmart as we were walking in. So nice of her to walk back in with us and chat for awhile. Meanwhile , back outside, we had about 7 people come over to us and want to see the inside of the teardrop and talk to us about it. That was pretty cool!

Before we left the Walmart parking lot, we started dinner in the crockpot - soup! So handy to have a outlet in the back of the truck. Super cool!

Arriving at the Snowflake Temple to take some pictures....

Teardrop & the temple.

Some model shots of the teardrop ;-)

And it was on to our next spot...Crystal Forest.
We camped here for the night and the next day we explored the Petrified Forest.
Stay tuned for pictures of that!
