Snow Canyon in Utah

We took a break from the Parade of Homes in St. George and headed to Snow Canyon State Park. There is quite a lot to do in this area. Hiking trails, horseback riding, biking and rock climbing. People were out on the day we went enjoying the beautiful weather and scenery.

New Wave Hike

Starting out on a new hike near Lake Powell. My friends did it before we came and I knew Tony & I just had to check it out. So glad that we did because it was fun and we got lots of good pictures!

The Needles Lookout

Time to get out of Ridgecrest - super hot and humid and we were on the search for cooler weather. Going to Sequoia National Forest has been on my list since we moved here a year and a half ago and we finally had a Saturday that worked out to go.

Death Valley Hike

After the Pahrump balloon festival we were able to stop a bit in Death Valley NP on our way back to Ridgecrest.

We found a one way dirt road to explore...

and views for miles

Taking a panoram

You can really see in the picture on the left how narrow the walk area was.

Chilly but sunny and not terribly windy

Passing through Devil's Cornfield before we got to sand dunes and other fun areas.

More fun times ahead!

Tewinkle Park Nature Walk

I found Tewinkle Park on Yelp when I was searching for easy hikes in the area. This one caught my eye because the name was catchy and there was water. I love a hike with water for some reason. This park was really quite neat!

Mecca Hills Ladder Canyon Hike

We tried this hike in the morning on Saturday but the road was so gravelly that I thought my car was going to fall apart just driving on it. We were also uncertain how hard the ladders would be to get up and down so we got down the road a few minutes and decided to turn around. It's called the Ladder Canyon or Painted Canyon and is 40 miles southeast of Palm Springs. Apparently it is one of the best slot canyon hikes in California. Yeah!

Salina & Escalante

A few more shots of the hot air balloons on Sunday morning in Salina, UT

This balloon was probably my favorite. I loved the colors and design

This one is pretty too - bright colors!

Driving to Escalante National Park

And here I am!

And here we are!
A nice couple took our picture

Owl hogging all the chips. Haha

I love the reflection in the side mirror too

Contrast of colors. So pretty

Another cool shot I liked

We hiked to "The Tanks"

So happy we are pulling the teardrop behind us

A pool of yucky water, yet there were somehow creatures in it. Way up in the rocks in the puddle of water. I dont know how they even got in there!

Blocking the sun

Pioneer Register. Crazy to read!

The end of a beautiful hike. We probably didnt even see all there was to see, as usual! :)
