After the storm on Wednesday night, we were not sure how the weather would be for balloons on Thursday (media day) but we woke up to no wind and clear skies (no rain) so our hopes of seeing the balloons fly went up. It was a good day, especially because it was the only day we got to be to this event this time around.
This is what we saw as we approached the balloon field. Early mornings are what you encounter when you go to a hot air balloon festival. We got up at 6:10am and out to the field by 6:30am.
Everyone took their time to inflate it seemed, nobody was panicked or rushing. It was so relaxing and fun to watch all the pilots and crew do their thing. Normally, we would be crewing too but since we only had 1 day, we decided to just be spectators.
Tony liked the Elvis balloon because it had 4 fingers and so does he! (on his left hand only)
There's so many good pictures that it makes it really hard to decide what to share
Had some fun capturing the balloons in my reflective Snapchat Spectacles
A couple special shape balloons over that direction
So many balloons - everywhere you look!
Special shape lion! Smokey the Bear! Elvis!
Gotta get some selfies with the balloons - always!
Our friends in Utah with their balloon, D3. Both patriotic balloons are theirs
I just love the way the balloons look when there are clouds in the sky
What. A. Morning. Wish we could have stayed longer - next time!
