Wilson's Creek National Battlefield

One of our stops on our weeklong trip was going to Wilson's Creek National Battlefield.

Not very many places have a register to sign I've noticed but I always make sure to sign it when there is one. Check out that canister shot also!

These national parks in the mid-west seem to be focused on all the wars that went on out there. The ones on the west coast seem to focus on different Indian tribes. So interesting!

A man went around and checked the temps in all the displays and wrote it down on a pad of paper.

Zoom in on this pic to read. So funny/hilarious/sad/wow all at the same time.

Battle of the Pea Ridge, March 7-8, 1862.

Over the river and through the woods...just kidding. There were about 8 stops I believe around this park where you could get out and do a walk or go see something cool. Because we were limited on time, we only stopped at this one and went for a short walk.

The photo below explains the picture above.

Basically, the sinkhole in the ground pictured here was a mass grave for the bodies

Walk walk walk. Felt so good after all the driving we had been doing.

Always loving the green, esp because I see soo much brown every day in my regular life.

Another park checked off and seen in our National Parks book.

If you'd like to go here, the address is:

6424 W Farm Rd 182, Republic, MO 65738
