Onyx Cave

Tony was with us for part of the morning in Eureka Springs, Arkansas but he had to go back to Pea Ridge to work at noon so then James and I did some fun stuff on our own, one of them being the Onyx Cave. It's the oldest show cave in Arkansas.

This rock took 7 men to lift and weights over 700 lbs I believe they said.

It was a self guided tour and not crowded which was nice. We were able to get in and explore pretty much by ourselves. You pressed green buttons along the way that put a recorded voice in to the headset and told you the history of the cave which was quite cool.

We got headphones for our self-guided tour and there were some great photo spots along the path

Can you see the elephant?

There are so many caves in Arkansas and surrounding states that it kind of blows my mind!

So much fun and I'm glad we got to do this one.

It was $8/person and if you'd like to go yourself,

  1. I find cave to be very intriguing and this particular one has some interesting history to it. Not to mention that every part of a cave seems so unique to each other.
