La Brea Tar Pits

I've been here once, a couple years ago so I guess I was due back for a visit? Since the inlaws & aunt were in town and they wanted to go, I became the designated driver for this L.A. trip. Here's what we did and saw!

So sad but it's history! It is fascinating to me that this is here and the city of L.A. has just built itself up so close in any direction you look.

It was pretty hot outside for October and we didn't spend too long outside before heading in to the museum.

Try pulling up on any of those metal handles and it's really hard to do! No wonder any animal would get stuck and pulled down.

Crazy tiny!

Everything is filed and cataloged in order...so neat!

His mom and I ventured outside to one of the excavation sites which I guess is closed for the season now.

It was a nice visit overall and worth checking out if you are in the L.A area.
